So you have a great idea for a film, documentary or passion project.
What's the pitch?
But you already have a great fantastical awesome idea, can imagine the characters and the script... all that doesn't matter because if no one reads it, no one will find it.
A pitch deck is a short presentation document for your project be it a film, documentary or other project that introduces the storyline and world of film, outlines who's already or who you would like involved and tells us why it is so special and great.
The Cover Page - like a poster for your idea, it sets the tone for everything that we are about to discover.
A Log Line - One to two sentences - briefly summarising the idea that hooks the reader in and describes the central idea. See - https://www.indiewire.com/feature/how-to-write-the-perfect-logline-and-why-its-as-important-as-your-screenplay-31710/
A Synopsis - a brief summary of your story's main plot, subplots, and the ending, a few character descriptions, and an overview of your major themes. See - https://blog.reedsy.com/how-to-write-a-synopsis/
A Treatment - a summary of the project communicating all of the essential scenes, themes and the tone of the project to entice or pitch to buyers and producers into reading, developing, or even buying your idea.
Moodboard - this is optional, but always visually pleasing. A fantastic way to show the readers a view of the scene colouring and feel.
Talent - Bios for any key talent you would love or have already got involved or attached to your idea, whether that be producers, directors, actors or whoever. Showing who you would like or have involved is a great way of building confidence in the project and lowering a potential buyers' risk as most talents will come with a built-in audience attached.
Below is a template you can use for your application - and a few examples and final products for projects from the past!
Good luck!
